During this visit, he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is expected that the talks will focus on trade, investment, defense cooperation, cutting-edge technology, as well as the submarine deal, which is crucial for India.

Under this, a partnership is possible between Germany's leading defense company Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and India's Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited. If approved, it would be one of the largest contracts in India's defense sector to date.
This deal will significantly enhance the Indian Navy's maritime power. It will also boost indigenous defense production and strengthen the 'Make in India' campaign. India will gain access to advanced German submarine technology, which could further strengthen India's strategic position in the Indian Ocean region.
