Luthra Brothers detained in Thailand
New Delhi: Both the brothers, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, have been taken into custody by Police in Thailand. The preparations for their extradition to India have been intensified. After the incident, the two brothers fled from Delhi to Phuket, Thailand.
Earlier, the police had suspended the passports of the Luthra brothers. The fire at the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in Goa claimed the lives of 25 people, including 20 staff members and 5 tourists.
AS soon as the fire in the Club raged and rescue operations were underway, the Luthra brothers had made up their mind to flee the country. Therefore they booked tickets to Thailand and fled the country by flight from Delhi.
The Luthra brothers are facing charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligence.
The first picture of the Luthra brothers, who were detained in Thailand, has surfaced. Both will be brought back to Delhi after their detention.
New Order from District Administration After the Fire
Following the tragic fire incident at the nightclub in Arpora, Goa, the district administration issued an order on Wednesday evening, prohibiting the use of firecrackers, sparklers, and fireworks inside tourist establishments as a precautionary measure.
An official associated with the case stated that this order has been issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. According to the new order, this ban will be applicable to all nightclubs, bars and restaurants, hotels, guesthouses, resorts, beach shacks, and temporary structures throughout North Goa.
