India achieves breakthrough with successful flight test of integrated Air Defence Weapon System

New Delhi: India has successfully completed the first flight test of the Integrated Air Defense Weapon System (IADWS), which is a major achievement in the country's defense technology. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and related industries on this success. According to the information, the first flight test of this system was conducted near the Odisha coast at around 12:30 pm on August 23.

IADWS is a modern multi-layered air defense system, which includes various indigenous technologies. The system includes quick reaction surface-to-air missiles (QRSAM), advanced very short range air defense system (VSHORADS) missiles, and high-power laser-based directed energy weapons (DEW). All these components together make the country's air defense strong and effective.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh called this success a matter of pride for the country and said that this test will take Indian defense capabilities to new heights. He wrote on the social media platform 'X', "IADWS is a multi-layered air defense system, which includes quick reaction surface-to-air missiles (QRSAM), advanced very short range VSHORADS missiles and high power laser-based directed energy weapons (DEW)."

He further said that this test has played an important role in establishing the country's multi-layered air defense system and it will strengthen regional security against enemy air threats. Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, Indian Armed Forces and the country's defense industry for this unique success.
