New Delhi: Prostate cancer is a disease typically associated with men over 50. However, some new studies suggest otherwise. In fact, this problem is now being seen in men under 30.

This is a serious problem, as prostate cancer diagnosed at a younger age is more aggressive and reduces the chances of survival.

Therefore, it is important to understand its causes and symptoms so that it can be identified early. Let's learn why prostate cancer is now affecting younger men and what its early symptoms are.

Why are prostate cancer cases increasing?

It's difficult to pinpoint a single cause for the rise in prostate cancer at a young age; rather, it's the result of a combination of lifestyle and environmental factors.

Genetics- Genetics is considered the most significant factor. If a father or brother has had prostate cancer, the risk increases significantly. Certain gene mutations may also be responsible.

Poor lifestyle- Obesity, excessive consumption of processed and junk food, red meat, and lack of physical activity can cause hormonal imbalances and inflammation in the body, which promote cancer development.

Environmental factors- Pesticides, heavy metals, and certain chemicals also increase the risk. These toxins can accumulate in the body and damage cells.

Smoking and alcohol consumption- Tobacco and alcohol also significantly increase the risk of cancer.

Improved diagnostic techniques- An important aspect is that cancer detection techniques have improved compared to earlier times, and people are becoming more aware. Because of this, more cases are being detected now than before.

What are the early symptoms of prostate cancer?
Frequent urination, especially at night- If the urge to urinate persists without urging, this is a cause for concern.

Difficulty passing urine- Difficulty starting urination, a weak stream of urine, or intermittent urination.

Blood in the urine- This is a serious warning sign and requires immediate medical attention.
Pain or tightness in the pelvic area - Persistent pain or discomfort in the area around the prostate.

Blood in the sperm- This can also be a significant symptom of prostate cancer.
Bone pain - If the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, pain in the back or hips may occur.
