New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised India’s Gen Z and youth power, stating that the country’s young population is at the forefront of nation-building and will play a decisive role in shaping India’s future.
Addressing the concluding session of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said the creativity, capability and confidence of India’s youth will take the nation to new heights in the coming decades.

Highlighting the importance of young leadership, PM Modi said that the responsibility of achieving a Viksit Bharat now lies with the youth. Referring to India’s centenary of Independence in 2047, he called the present phase a “golden opportunity” for young Indians.
“Your capability will become India’s capability, and your success will take India’s success to new heights,” the Prime Minister said, urging young people to seize opportunities and take calculated risks without hesitation.
PM Modi also outlined the steps taken by the Centre to empower the youth, stating that successive government schemes have been launched with a clear focus on young Indians. He said multiple opportunities have been created across sectors and encouraged the youth to actively participate in nation-building initiatives.
The Prime Minister emphasized that risk-taking and innovation are essential qualities for progress and urged the youth to remain fearless while pursuing their goals.
During his address, PM Modi highlighted the significance of National Youth Day, celebrated on January 12, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He described Vivekananda’s life and ideals as a guiding force for India’s youth.
He added that January 12 was deliberately chosen for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, as Swami Vivekananda’s vision continues to inspire generations toward service, strength, and self-belief.

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, organised from January 9 to 12, served as a national platform for structured engagement between India’s youth and the country’s leadership. This year’s edition witnessed participation from nearly 50 lakh youth across the country.
PM Modi lauded the discussions held during the event on key themes such as women-led development and youth participation in democracy. He said the thoughtful presentations reflected the commitment of India’s “Amrit Generation” and showcased the creativity and forward-looking mindset of Gen Z.
Congratulating participants on the success of the dialogue, the Prime Minister reaffirmed confidence in the youth as the driving force behind India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
