New Delhi: A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight at Lucknow airport was disrupted on Friday after a bomb threat was reported shortly before its scheduled departure, prompting immediate security action and inspection of the aircraft.

Threat Reported Before Takeoff

The alert was raised while the aircraft was preparing for departure from Lucknow to Delhi. The information was quickly passed to security agencies, who activated standard safety protocols.

Passengers and crew were kept under strict monitoring as authorities moved in to secure the aircraft.

Security Protocols Activated

Following the threat, the aircraft was isolated and subjected to a detailed security inspection. Bomb disposal and airport security teams conducted checks in line with established emergency procedures.

Officials confirmed that the aircraft was thoroughly scanned before further clearance decisions were taken. No suspicious items had been reported at the time of filing the report, though checks were still underway.

Recent Pattern Of Flight Security Alerts

The incident comes just a day after a separate security scare involving another IndiGo flight in Kerala. In that case, a note found inside an aircraft at Kannur International Airport initially triggered a bomb alert.

The note was discovered in a lavatory waste bin after the flight landed from Mumbai. The cabin crew alerted Air Traffic Control, leading to an emergency response and evacuation procedures.

However, after detailed inspection by bomb disposal and dog squads, authorities found no explosives or suspicious material. Police later clarified that the note had been misinterpreted and did not contain any credible threat.

Aviation Security Under Focus

With back-to-back alerts involving the airline, aviation security agencies remain on heightened vigilance. Officials continue to stress that all such threats are treated with utmost seriousness, even when they later prove to be false alarms.

Investigations into the Lucknow incident are ongoing, and further updates are expected once the security clearance process is completed.
