Lokmat Sakhi completes 25 years

The Silver Jubilee celebration marks 25 years of the Lokmat Sakhi Manch, an initiative centred on women's empowerment, recognition and social development.

Over the past quarter-century, the Sakhi Manch has focused on creating a platform for women and recognising their achievements in areas ranging from social service and education to healthcare, business, sports, culture and the arts.

The Silver Jubilee event in Delhi will bring this 25-year journey into focus while celebrating women whose work has made a notable impact in their respective fields.

Lokmat Sakhi Sanman Awards

The Lokmat Sakhi Sanman Awards are an integral part of the initiative and recognise women for their achievements and contributions across multiple sectors.

The awards were first instituted in Nagpur in 2011 and have subsequently been presented in different regions. Over the years, the awards have recognised women working in social service, education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, sports, culture, the arts and other areas, including acts of bravery.

Earlier editions have featured women achievers from different walks of life. The 2022 state-level awards, for instance, recognised personalities including Padma Shri Dr Smita Kalhe, Meenatai Jagdhane, Mohini Bhoge, Sakshi Chitalange and Dr Tara Maheshwari across different categories.

Silver Jubilee year began with President Murmu interaction

The 25th anniversary year of the Lokmat Sakhi Manch began with a special interaction involving 25 accomplished women from Maharashtra and President Droupadi Murmu at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.

The Delhi celebration will now mark another significant milestone in the Sakhi Manch's 25-year journey, bringing together distinguished guests and women achievers to recognise their contributions and achievements.
