New Delhi: The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court has suggested that the Central Government explore the possibility of enacting a law similar to Australia's, which would completely prohibit the use of social media platforms by children under the age of 16.

A division bench of Justices G Jayachandran and KK Ramakrishnan made the observations recently. The bench was passing orders on a PIL seeking a direction to internet service providers (ISP) to provide parental window service since pornographic content is available and accessible to young children.
