Israeli reports Claims Supreme Leader not in Iran (Img: X)
Tehran: A fresh claim about the whereabouts of Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has surfaced after Saudi broadcaster Al-Hadath, citing an unnamed Israeli security source, reported that he is "not in Iran." The report did not specify where he was believed to be and did not present evidence to support the assertion.
Iranian authorities have not officially commented on the claim, and it has not been independently verified. Reports in recent weeks have noted that Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly since succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei, following the latter's death in February. Instead, his messages have been issued in written form.

According to Al-Hadath, the Israeli security source also alleged that recent statements attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei were prepared by senior members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including its newly appointed commander Ahmad Vahidi. The source further claimed internal divisions within Iran had deepened, although no supporting evidence was provided.
The same source alleged that the United States does not want Israel to participate in retaliatory strikes against Iran, even if Tehran launches attacks on Israeli territory.
Mojtaba Khamenei has not made a confirmed public appearance since assuming Iran's top leadership. His absence from major public events, including his father's funeral, has fuelled speculation over his security and health. Iranian officials have previously attributed his low public profile to security concerns rather than confirming any change in his location.

The latest report comes as tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States remain high. In a written message issued on Saturday, Mojtaba Khamenei warned that continued US military action would bring "unforgettable lessons" and described US President Donald Trump's signature on agreements as "worthless and invalid."
The claims regarding his whereabouts remain unverified, and there has been no official confirmation from Tehran.
