PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: 20th installment released; Over 9.7 crore farmers will benefit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred the 20th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) to the accounts of eligible farmers across the country in his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, today.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth about Rs 2200 crore.

In his social media post on Friday, the Prime Minister had said, "August 2 is a special day for my family members of Kashi. At 11 am, I will inaugurate several projects related to education, health, tourism and connectivity. On this occasion, I will also release the 20th installment of PM Kisan Yojana."

Help of more than Rs 3.69 lakh crore so far

PM Kisan Yojana was launched in February 2019, which aims to provide financial assistance of Rs 6000 annually to landholder farmers. This amount is sent in three equal installments through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). According to the information given by Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ram Nath Thakur in the Rajya Sabha, so far more than Rs 3.69 lakh crore has been sent to the accounts of farmers in 19 installments.

How much benefit from the first installment so far?

First installment (2019): Rs 6324 crore to 3.16 crore farmers

19th installment (2025): Rs 23,500 crore to 10.06 crore farmers

20th installment (2 August 2025): About Rs 2000 likely to be given to each farmer

Millions of farmers added since 2023

Let us tell you that during the 'Bharat Sankalp Yatra' in 2023, more than 1 crore new farmers joined this scheme. After this, another 25 lakh eligible families were added under the 100 days campaign of the new government. More than 30 lakh pending self-registration cases have got approval through the special campaign run from September 2024.

Help of farmers with the help of technology

The government has used modern technology to quickly resolve the problems of farmers. Through CP Grams Portal, PM Kisan Portal and now AI based voice chatbot, farmers can ask questions in their mother tongue and get solutions. Currently this facility is available in 11 languages and work is being done to make it more user-friendly.

More than 95 lakh problems resolved so far

As of July 15, 2025, more than 95 lakh complaints of 53 lakh farmers have been resolved through PM Kisan Helpline and Digital Portal. MP Madan Rathore said that this scheme is no longer just a means of financial assistance, but has become a symbol of empowerment of farmers.
