New Delhi: The central government has announced an important plan for eligible candidates who have been left out of the final selection list in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. This initiative, called 'Pratibha Setu,' aims to provide employment opportunities to thousands of meritorious students who are deprived of final selection despite crossing difficult stages like prelims, mains, and interviews.

The main features of the scheme:

1. Connection with National Career Service (NCS) portal

Data of all eligible candidates will be uploaded on the NCS portal. Various government departments, public sector undertakings, and private companies will be able to use this database. Candidates will not need to apply again and again.

2. Selection process

Candidates who have passed the Mains exam by UPSC will be eligible. Institutions will be able to contact candidates directly. A separate exam will not be required for posts

3. Beneficiary

Every year about 2,000-3,000 candidates are deprived of selection after reaching Mains. Candidates who have traveled to interview

According to the Minister of State for Labor and Employment, this scheme will act as a 'bridge' that will convey the gap between talent and opportunities. These candidates who have undergone the difficult selection process of UPSC have administrative capacity, leadership properties, and skills to solve complex problems, which is valuable for both government and private sectors.
