New Delhi: The leak of former Army Chief General MM Naravane's unpublished book has sparked political uproar. The Delhi Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into how the book was leaked. Penguin India clarified that they did not publish the book, but Rahul Gandhi, speaking to reporters in Parliament House, expressed his trust in the former Army Chief.

What Rahul Gandhi Said

Rahul Gandhi pointed out to the media that General Naravane himself had shared a link to his book on social media. He said, "Now either Naravane is lying or the publisher, Penguin India, is lying. I don't believe the former Army Chief would lie."

He further stated that Penguin claims the book hasn't been published, but it is available on Amazon. Naravane also tweeted in 2023, urging people to buy his book. Rahul said, "I trust the former Army Chief, not Penguin."

Rahul Gandhi also alleged that the contents of the book could be uncomfortable for the government and the Prime Minister.

Penguin India Issues Legal Warning

Penguin India issued a statement stating that the publication of the book had been stopped and no copy was publicly available. If anyone has distributed a copy of the book, it should be confiscated, otherwise Penguin India will take legal action.

BJP MP Demands Action

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said that Penguin India has clarified that they did not publish the book. He questioned Rahul Gandhi about which book he was showing. The MP appealed to the Speaker to take strict action against Rahul Gandhi and his alleged associates, and also to suspend the membership of opposition women MPs. He said that this action is necessary in the national interest.
