The Indian Army has issued a sharp warning to Pakistan
New Delhi: The Indian Army has issued a sharp warning to Pakistan, stating that any future provocation will be met with a stronger and more decisive response than before. Senior commanders highlighted that preparations under Operation Sindoor 2.0 are already underway, reflecting India’s heightened military readiness.
The remarks came during a major operational capability demonstration held in Pathankot, where senior officers outlined the army’s preparedness and strategic outlook amid continuing tensions with Pakistan.
The original Operation Sindoor was launched by Indian armed forces in May last year following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. In response, India carried out precision strikes targeting terror infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
According to military officials, the operation was designed to deliver a strong message against cross-border terrorism. They said the swift response forced Pakistan to seek a halt to the escalation within a short period.
Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding of 2 Corps, said the earlier operation served as a limited demonstration of India’s capabilities. He added that the ongoing preparations under Operation Sindoor 2.0 are far more extensive.
Speaking to reporters, Pushkar said the earlier strikes were only a “small sample” meant to convey India’s resolve. He indicated that future responses could involve coordinated actions across land, sea and air depending on the nature of the threat.
The officer stressed that operational planning remains flexible and would be determined by the scale of damage the armed forces decide to inflict on the adversary if required.
Another senior officer, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, who heads the Indian Army Western Command, said India would not be intimidated by Pakistan’s nuclear rhetoric.
Katiyar said Pakistan’s leadership was attempting to use the threat of nuclear escalation as a deterrent against Indian action. However, he asserted that the Indian Army remains fully prepared to respond firmly to any hostile move.

The statements were delivered during a high-profile military demonstration in Pathankot, where the Western Command showcased its combat readiness and operational capability.
Military officials said the exercises were aimed at reinforcing India’s “zero tolerance” approach toward terrorism while demonstrating that the armed forces remain prepared for any escalation along the western front.
They emphasised that India’s strategy continues to focus on deterrence, preparedness and swift retaliation against threats to national security.
