New Delhi: On March 24, 2026, the weather in several cities across North India is expected to be slightly warmer than normal. Delhi will experience partial cloud cover; while this will prevent the sunlight from being overly intense, the heat will still be palpable. Conversely, Noida and Gurgaon will enjoy clear skies and plenty of sunshine, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
In cities across Uttar Pradesh—such as Lucknow, Kanpur, and Prayagraj—the skies are likely to remain clear throughout the day. Similarly, in Madhya Pradesh, cities like Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain will also experience completely clear weather conditions.
In Delhi today, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 31°C, with a minimum of 17°C.
Noida: Approximately 30°C
Gurgaon: Around 29°C
Lucknow/Kanpur: Up to 33°C
Prayagraj: Up to 34°C
Bhopal/Indore/Ujjain: 34–35°C
In all these cities, temperatures will remain slightly above average, resulting in a distinct sensation of heat during the day.
As the final week of March unfolds, the heat has begun to gather momentum. Daytime sunshine is becoming more intense; cities in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, in particular, are experiencing significant heat during the afternoon hours.
However, a mild coolness still lingers during the mornings and nights, preventing the weather from feeling entirely sweltering just yet. While there is currently no heatwave-like situation, indications suggest that temperatures are set to rise further in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is possible in Delhi, Noida, and Gurgaon on March 26. This is expected to bring about a slight drop in temperatures, offering some relief to the public.
Additionally, there is a possibility of light rain in Noida and Agra between March 28 and 29. However, the weather in most other cities across Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain clear.
In the days ahead, temperatures are expected to rise gradually, potentially reaching a range of 33°C to 36°C. The heat is expected to intensify, particularly in cities such as Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Bhopal.
In Delhi-NCR as well, temperatures could climb to between 32°C and 33°C. However, intermittent spells of rain and cloud cover may offer some temporary relief.
Overall, temperatures are gradually rising as March draws to a close. While the weather remains balanced for the moment, temperatures are likely to climb further in the coming days. Consequently, people need to be prepared in advance to protect themselves from the heat.
