New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday, August 28, clarified that there is no dispute of any kind between the Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He made this statement after reports were doing the rounds about differences between the two organizations.
Bhagwat said that the Sangh can give advice on any issue, but the right to take the final decision always rests with the BJP. He also emphasized that the Sangh has a good rapport with the Narendra Modi-led central government, and the working relationship between the two is smooth and positive.
Need for coordination and improvement with the government
Mohan Bhagwat said that the Sangh has a good rapport with every government, be it the state government or the central government. However, he also admitted that there are some internal contradictions in the current system, which need to be corrected.
Mohan Bhagwat clears the rift
According to Bhagwat, this system was created by the British to rule, so changes are necessary in it. He said that the Sangh wants some work to be done, but the government has to give complete freedom to work. It depends on the government whether it is able to implement those suggestions or not, and there is no quarrel of any kind in this.
There can be conflict, not quarrel
The RSS chief completely rejected the reports of differences between the Sangh and the BJP and said that all this is just an illusion. He clarified that sometimes there may be conflict, but it is not a quarrel because the goal of both the organizations is the same—the welfare of the country.

Bhagwat stressed that there may be differences between the Sangh and the BJP, but there is no difference of opinion. The paths of both may be different, but the destination is the same.
Role of the Sangh: Giving advice, not taking decisions
Mohan Bhagwat clarified that the Sangh is not a decision-making organization, but it only works to give advice. He said that it is wrong to say that the Sangh decides everything. Citing his experience, Bhagwat said that he has been running the Sangh for many years and the BJP is running the government, so the roles of both are different.
The work of the Sangh is only to give suggestions, while the right to take decisions lies with the government. He said that if the Sangh decided everything, the work would not have taken so much time.
Silence on the selection of BJP President
Mohan Bhagwat refused to comment on the delay in the selection of the new BJP president. He said that there is no interference of the Sangh in this and the BJP needs to take its time. Bhagwat also said that the Sangh helps not only the BJP but every organization that wants to do good work for the country.
