SP worker slams Maulana Sajid Rashidi in studio over Dimple Yadav Remark

Noida: A major controversy arose when Maulana Sajid Rashidi, president of the All India Imam Association, was attacked in a news channel studio in Noida. The attack was carried out by Mohit Nagar, a young leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), who was already angry against Maulana Rashidi. The reason for this was Maulana’s controversial comment made on SP MP Dimple Yadav.

What was the whole matter?

Recently, Dimple Yadav went to a mosque wearing a sari, after which Maulana Sajid Rashidi made an indecent statement about her. There was a lot of resentment among SP workers about this statement. Party supporters protested against it and also filed a case against Maulana at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.

Assaulted in a news channel

On Tuesday, Maulana Sajid Rashidi was called for an interview on a private news channel in Noida. It is being said that he was sent an official call from the channel. But, as soon as he arrived at the studio, SP’s young leader, Mohit Nagar, attacked him. In the video going viral, it can be seen that Mohit slapped Maulana, after which there was a stir in the studio.

What did the police say?

After this incident, police officials of the Sector-126 police station said that the matter has come to their notice, but no official complaint has been filed yet. It would be clear only after the investigation what the real reason for the attack was and whether it was preplanned.

Was this violence justified?

This incident has once again raised questions about whether it is right to give a violent response to someone’s statement. While Maulana’s statement is considered objectionable on the one hand, on the other hand, it is also a legal offense to attack publicly. This matter has now become the subject of political and social debate.
