Groom among 8 killed; SUV crashed into wall.
Sambhal: Eight people including the groom were killed and two seriously injured after an SUV car crashed into a wall of a college here in Sambhal.
The incident took place in Jewanai village when a Bolero SUV carrying a wedding procession on Friday. The Bolero was reportedly travelling at high speed when the driver lost control near Janata Inter College.
The deceased have been identified as the groom, Suraj Pal (20), his sister Komal (15), aunt Asha (26), cousin Aishwarya (3), cousin Sachin (22) resident of Hingwadi in Bulandshahr, Sachin's wife Madhu (20), maternal uncle Ganesh (2), father Deva, resident of Khurja in Bulandshahr, driver Ravi (28) a resident of the village.
While the seriously injured Himanshi and Deva have been admitted to Aligarh.
Sukhram, a resident of Hargovindpur village of Junawai police station area of Sambhal, had arranged the marriage of his son Suraj in Sirsaul village of Bilsi police station area of Badaun district. On Friday evening, the baraat was going to village Sirsaul. 11 vehicles of the baraatis had already left for Sirsaul. One Bolero was left behind, in which 10 people including the groom were riding.
On the way, the Bolero hit the wall of Janta Inter College located in Junawai. The collision was so severe that the Bolero was blown to pieces. All the people in the car were seriously injured. The villagers somehow took the injured out of the Bolero and took them to CHC.
Himanshi and Deva are in critical condition
As soon as the information about the accident was received, there was chaos in the wedding house. Family members and relatives also reached the accident site. Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that the accident happened due to high speed. The Bolero collided with the wall of the college.
Removed with the help of a crane
The Bolero was badly damaged in the accident. The help of a crane was taken to take the injured out of the car.
The family came from Bhilwara a month ago
Sukhram's family, a resident of Hargovindpur, works as a labourer in Bhidwara, Rajasthan. When Suraj Pal's marriage was fixed a month ago, the family came to their native village and started preparing for the wedding.
The family members say that after completing the wedding rituals, the family had to go back to Rajasthan. Sukhram's son and daughter died in this accident and his brother-in-law Deva is battling between life and death in the hospital.
The place where this accident happened is not inhabited. A college is built at some distance from the settlement. There is a population at the place of village Ghatsama. But a college is built. Raju, a resident of village Dhanipur, said that the speed of the car was very high. Suddenly the car was seen turning over and there was a loud explosion.
When we reached the spot, the people in the car were screaming but it was difficult to take them out, because the windows were stuck. Which could not be opened by hand. After this, the car was straightened with a JCB. Then the gates were broken with the same JCB.

On the other hand, CMO Dr. Tarun Pathak along with Naib Tehsildar Bablu Kumar and Anuj Kumar reached the CHC and inquired. Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi returned after inspecting the spot.
