She announced through her Twitter account that she is returning fully prepared for the 2028 Olympic Games (LA28). This is not just a comeback but a new beginning—with her youngest son as her biggest motivation.
Vinesh had been away from wrestling for a long time. She says she needed time to understand the pressures, expectations, struggles, and pain of her career. She explained that she may have moved away from the mat, but wrestling will always remain alive in her heart.
She wrote that people repeatedly asked her if the Paris Olympics was her last competition. For a long time, she herself was unable to answer this question. But when she got a chance to stay, she realized the fire within her was still alive.

Vinesh says wrestling still flows in her blood. No matter how far she goes, her heart and feet continue to pull her towards the mat. In her post, she wrote, "The fire never dies; it just gets buried under layers of fatigue and noise."
According to her, discipline, routine, and fighting spirit are her hallmarks. And now she has a new partner in this fight—her son, who will be her biggest cheerleader on her way to LA28.

Vinesh was in excellent form at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She won three bouts in a single day and secured a place in the final. But the next day came a major setback. During the weigh-in, she was found to be slightly overweight.
According to the rules, she was not allowed to compete in the final. India and Vinesh's team appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but to no avail. The result: no finals, no medal, and she returned to India empty-handed.
