Dehradun: As the heavy rains are expected particularly in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand today as well, the Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Bageshwar districts, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
A yellow alert for heavy rain has also been issued in other districts of the state. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain across the state till July 12.
Keeping in view the pridiction of heavy rain and landslide, a holiday has been declared today on Monday in government and semi-government schools of Chamoli district on the instructions of the Chief Education Officer.
District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that power supply in Jyotirmath area is disrupted due to a fault in the 66 kV power line of Pitkul.
As many as 50 roads including two national highways have been closed due to debris falling at various places after rain in the state. Due to this, the local people as well as the pilgrims visiting Chardham are facing a lot of problems.

According to the State Emergency Operation Center, the movement of vehicles on the Vikasnagar-Kalsi-Barkot National Highway is closed due to debris at kilometer 26 near Lakhwar Band in Dehradun district.
Three rural roads are also closed in the district. Apart from this, the Rishikesh-Yamunotri National Highway is closed at Aujri in Uttarkashi district. One state highway and 11 rural roads are also closed in this district.
Three more rural roads in Rudraprayag district, Kathgodam-Haidakhan state highway in Nainital district, 13 rural roads in Chamoli district, seven in Pithoragarh, four in Bageshwar, three in Pauri and two rural roads in Tehri district are closed.
The Meteorological Center (IMD) located in Dehradun has again issued an alert for Monday. The possibility of rain has been expressed in entire Uttarakhand (Uttarakhand Weather Report). Orange alert has been issued especially for Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Bageshwar districts, where incidents of lightning may occur along with heavy rain.
At the same time, yellow alert has been issued in hilly districts like Almora, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Pauri Garhwal and Chamoli. The Meteorological Department has warned that moderate to heavy rain may occur in these areas.
Monsoon effect is clearly visible in the plain districts as well. The weather has completely changed in districts like Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
People are suffering from humidity and heat due to sometimes rain and sometimes sunshine.
According to the IMD, weather will keep changing from 7 to 9 July.
