New Delhi: The weather has become pleasant in several states of the country due to heavy rains. The southwest monsoon has entered Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, however, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and the National Capital Delhi are still waiting for the monsoon, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there are favorable conditions for the arrival of monsoon in the North Arabian Sea, Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi in the next two days.

The monsoon has also progressed in Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, the remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, parts of western Uttar Pradesh and most parts of Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, heavy rains in many states have affected life, leading to incidents like landslides, floods and lightning.

Rain Begins In Himachal

With the arrival of monsoon in Himachal Pradesh, torrential rains have started, due to which incidents of landslides have been reported at many places. Many roads including Dharamshala-Chatro-Gaggal road were closed and waterlogging disrupted traffic. Nahan recorded the highest rainfall of 84.7 mm, while thunderstorms hit Sundernagar, Shimla and Kangra. Winds blew at a speed of 37 km per hour in Bajaura. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of more heavy rains in Himachal from June 22.

Uttar Pradesh Situation

Monsoon has knocked in 56 districts of Uttar Pradesh and it can cover 19 more districts in the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in a total of 65 districts including Lucknow for the next five days till 26 June. During this time, there is also a possibility of strong winds, which may affect life.

Lightning And Thunderstorms Warning

The department has also issued a warning of lightning and thunderstorms in some districts. Citizens have been advised to remain alert and take shelter in safe places. In view of this change in the weather, the administration is also on alert mode and is engaged in preparations to deal with possible disasters. The temperature is likely to drop due to the activity of monsoon.

Monsoon Knocks In Rajasthan

At the same time, monsoon has knocked strongly in Rajasthan and 114 mm of rain was recorded in Bijolia of Bhilwara. Jaipur's Phulera, Kota's Ramganjmandi and Bhilwara's Shahpur received 110 mm rainfall. The low pressure area in northeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas has now reached South Bihar, which is further intensifying the rain. A low pressure area remains from northwest Rajasthan to Meghalaya, due to which heavy rains are expected in northeast India for the next seven days.

Relief In Punjab-Haryana

Heavy rains also occurred at many places in Punjab and Haryana, which brought down the temperature and provided relief from the heat. Chandigarh recorded 9.7 mm of rain, while Haryana's Rohtak, Faridabad and Gurugram received heavy rains. Punjab's Pathankot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar and Hoshiarpur also received rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to heavy rains in both the states till June 25.

While this rain has made the weather pleasant, incidents like landslides, waterlogging and lightning have caused damage in many areas. The Meteorological Department has warned of more heavy rainfall in northwest and central India from June 22, for which the local administration has been advised to remain alert.
