Heavy rain predicted in Delhi-NCR

The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Delhi and surrounding areas even today i.e. on Monday, July 7.

Monsoon will remain active in North India
Good rains are also expected in the states of North India like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on Monday.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will remain fully active in these states for the next one week.
Heavy rains may also occur in some areas in these areas, which may lead to waterlogging and traffic jams.
Red alert in Himachal
The havoc of rain continues in Himachal Pradesh. A red alert has been issued in view of heavy rains in Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts.
There may be heavy rains at some places here, due to which the administration has been put on alert.
Roads and bridges have been damaged due to cloudburst in Padhar area of Mandi district. However, there is no news of any casualties so far. So far 74 people have died since the onset of monsoon in the state.
Alert in many districts in Bengal
A warning of heavy rain has also been issued in West Bengal in the coming days.
Pressure is building up in the Gangetic region here, due to which heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Purulia, Jhargram and West Medinipur.
Also, sub-Himalayan districts like Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar are also likely to receive heavy rainfall till July 10.
In Uttarakhand
As the heavy rains are expected particularly in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand today as well, the Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Bageshwar districts.
A yellow alert for heavy rain has also been issued in other districts of the state. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain across the state till July 12.
Keeping in view the pridiction of heavy rain and landslide, a holiday has been declared today on Monday in government and semi-government schools of Chamoli district on the instructions of the Chief Education Officer.
District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that power supply in Jyotirmath area is disrupted due to a fault in the 66 kV power line of Pitkul.
