Baramati: The plane crash that occurred near Baramati in Maharashtra on Tuesday morning has left families and communities devastated. Among those who lost their lives was Vidip Jadhav, a personal security officer (PSO) attached to senior leader Ajit Pawar.
The tragedy sent waves of grief through Vitawa area of Kalwa in Thane, where Jadhav lived for years. As news of his death reached the locality on Wednesday morning, neighbours gathered in shock, struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.
Lived a Quiet Life in Vitawa
Vidip Jadhav had been a long-time resident of Vitawa. He is survived by his parents, wife, a 14-year-old daughter, and a 9-year-old son. At the time of the accident, his parents were in their ancestral village. After receiving the news, the family immediately left for Baramati.
The aircraft reportedly crashed around 8:50 am, and the impact was so severe that none of the passengers on board could be saved.
“He Was Simple, Respectable, and Always Smiling”
Neighbours remember Vidip Jadhav as a soft-spoken, friendly, and respectable man. Residents of Krishna Vihar lane recalled seeing him leave for work early that morning, unaware it would be the last time.
“I saw him heading to work around 6:30 am. Within two hours, we heard he was no more. It’s impossible to believe,” said a neighbour.
Another resident, who had known Jadhav for nearly three decades, said he always greeted everyone warmly and never changed despite his professional responsibilities.
A Loss Felt Beyond the Family
Local residents said Jadhav’s death is not just a personal loss for his family but a blow to the entire neighbourhood.
“He was loved by everyone here,” said neighbour Rishikesh. “Today, we have lost someone who treated everyone with respect.”
Another neighbour, Shruti Walikar, demanded that the government provide financial assistance to the bereaved family and ensure a thorough investigation into the crash.
A Community in Mourning
As Vitawa mourns the loss of one of its own, memories of Vidip Jadhav’s simplicity, discipline, and kindness remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him. For his family and neighbours, his sudden passing has left a void that words can scarcely fill.
