X (Twitter) to appeal against a Karnataka High Court order enforcing compliance with takedown notices

New Delhi: Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) challenged the Indian government's orders to remove certain posts and accounts. However, the Karnataka High Court dismissed X's petition, stating that X must comply with Indian laws. The court clarified that the freedom of expression guaranteed under Article 19 of the Indian Constitution applies only to Indian citizens, not to foreign companies.
