The remarks come at a time when the TMC is grappling with a major internal rebellion and the exit of several MPs and senior leaders.
Kalyan Banerjee claimed he was sidelined in a legal matter concerning Abhishek Banerjee. According to him, another writ petition was filed and handed to a different lawyer without consulting him, despite his efforts in preparing the case.
Expressing frustration, he said he spent considerable time preparing legal arguments only to discover that decisions had been made without his knowledge.

The veteran MP said he had directly informed Mamata Banerjee about his concerns and asked her to make a choice. “Let Didi decide what she wants to do. If she decides to go with Abhishek, then I will decide my own future,” he stated.
Kalyan Banerjee’s remarks come amid one of the biggest crises in the party’s history. The TMC has been facing a wave of dissent following its recent electoral setback, with rebel MLAs and MPs questioning Abhishek Banerjee’s leadership role.
Recent resignations by leaders including Sushmita Dev and other lawmakers have further intensified speculation about a possible split within the party.
