New Delhi: After being acquitted in the Delhi excise policy case, Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp political attack on the central leadership, alleging that the case was part of a conspiracy aimed at destroying the Aam Aadmi Party.

The remarks came after the Rouse Avenue Court acquitted Kejriwal, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and K Kavitha in the alleged irregularities linked to the Delhi government’s 2022–23 excise policy.
“You filed so many cases against us. You unleashed the ED, the CBI, the police and the Income Tax Department. You sent five of our top leaders to jail… The only way to stop Kejriwal was to have him killed because nothing else could break him. You tried everything,” said Arvind… pic.twitter.com/sv9p1zkdwl

The court observed that the investigative agencies had failed to present sufficient evidence to justify continuing the criminal proceedings. In a detailed order running into hundreds of pages, the court said the chargesheets did not contain adequate material to proceed with a trial.
Following the ruling, Kejriwal alleged that the case was orchestrated by top leaders of the central government.
He directly named Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, claiming they had attempted to politically damage his party. “This entire conspiracy was designed to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party,” Kejriwal said, adding that both leaders should apologise to the people of the country for what he described as a politically motivated case.
Kejriwal also alleged that several central agencies had been used against him and other party leaders over the past four years. “You filed so many cases against us. You unleashed the ED, the CBI, the police and the Income Tax Department. You sent five of our top leaders to jail,” he said.
‘I Am Not Corrupt’: Kejriwal turns emotional after acquittal in Delhi excise policy case
“The only way to stop Kejriwal was to have him killed because nothing else could break him. You tried everything,” he added during the press conference.
The controversy originated from the Delhi government’s excise policy introduced for 2022-23. The Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate had alleged corruption, irregularities and money laundering linked to the policy.
Several politicians and officials were questioned or arrested during the investigation. However, the court noted that serious allegations against public officials must be backed by strong evidence and cannot rely solely on claims made by investigating agencies.
