Senior Congress Leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha from Telangana

Senior Congress leader and eminent jurist Abhishek Manu Singhvi has filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Telangana. If elected, he will join a rare group of MPs who have served five terms in the Upper House.

Singhvi’s wife, veteran singer Anita Singhvi, also accompanied him during the nomination process.

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Thursday filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana. The nomination was submitted in Hyderabad, marking another significant step in his long parliamentary career.

Party leaders and supporters were present during the filing of nomination papers. Singhvi’s wife, veteran singer Anita Singhvi, also accompanied him during the process.

Likely to Be Elected Unopposed

Sources indicated that Singhvi is likely to be elected unopposed in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. If that happens, it will mark his fifth term in the Upper House of Parliament.

His nomination from Telangana comes as part of the party’s strategy for the Rajya Sabha elections, where several seats are being filled through indirect elections by state legislators.
