New Delhi: India has found a new star in Under-19 cricket. Just 14-year-old left-handed opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the show with his explosive 175-run innings in the final against England. Undeterred by the pressure of a big match, Vaibhav completely changed the course of the match with his batting and played a key role in India's record sixth Under-19 title.
Vaibhav hit 15 fours and 15 sixes in his brilliant innings. The highlight of his batting was that he scored his last 151 runs in just 56 balls. However, he was caught by Manny Lumsden off the bowling of England captain Thomas Reeves at the end of the innings. India posted a mammoth total of 411 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs, enough to create pressure in a big match like the final.
England certainly struggled while chasing the target of 411 runs. Ben Dawkins scored 66 runs, while Caleb Faulkner played a brilliant innings of 115 runs from 67 balls. Despite this, the entire team was all out for 311 runs in 40.2 overs. The last wicket fell thanks to a brilliant catch by Khilan Patel, and India won the match and the title.
After leading the team to victory on the field, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also became a sensation in the dressing room. In a video shared by Rajasthan Royals, he was seen telling his teammates, "I can't understand Punjabi songs, guys, now Bhojpuri will sound good." He then danced with the team members to a Bhojpuri song. The victory celebrations continued on the team bus, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement.

Vaibhav, who played a match-winning innings in the final, was named Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament. He scored 439 runs in seven innings throughout the tournament, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer after England's Mayes. After the match, Vaibhav said that he was confident in his skills and wanted to contribute to the team in a big match. His historic innings is being seen as a strong sign for the future of Indian cricket.
