New Delhi: India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has climbed two places to secure the seventh spot in the latest ICC rankings for T20I batters. The rise comes despite him not featuring in recent matches following India’s T20 World Cup triumph earlier this year.

The updated rankings reflect consistency over time, with the batter continuing to hold a strong position among the world’s best in the shortest format.

New Zealand Pacers Register Major Gains

New Zealand’s pace attack saw notable improvements in the latest rankings update. Lockie Ferguson made the biggest jump among them, moving up 12 places to reach 39th after an impressive performance in the recent T20I series.

Other bowlers also gained ground, including Ben Sears, who climbed 20 spots to 59th. Kyle Jamieson advanced five places to 76th, while Zakary Foulkes rose eight positions to 81st.

South Africa Players Also See Movement

South African players featured prominently in the rankings changes following their recent T20I series win. George Linde moved up to 22nd in the all-rounders’ list, while Keshav Maharaj climbed to 47th among bowlers.

The rankings update follows South Africa’s 3-2 series victory over New Zealand, which influenced several positional changes.

Top Spots Remain Unchanged

At the top of the batting rankings, Abhishek Sharma retained the No.1 position, maintaining a narrow lead over Ishan Kishan. In the all-rounders’ category, Sikandar Raza continued to hold the top spot, staying ahead of India’s Hardik Pandya.

Among bowlers, Rashid Khan remained at No.1, with Varun Chakravarthy close behind in second place.

Dynamic Rankings Reflect Recent Form

The latest ICC update highlights how recent performances continue to reshape the rankings across formats. With several bilateral series influencing player standings, further changes are expected in the coming weeks as teams remain active in T20 cricket.
