New Delhi: India left-arm spinner Sree Charani has expressed confidence in her team's ability to recover from a disappointing defeat against England and finish the T20I series on a high ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup.

India Eye Strong Response in Series Decider

India suffered a 26-run loss in the second Women's T20 in Bristol, allowing England to level the three-match series at 1-1. With the final game now set to decide the contest, the visitors are focused on regaining momentum before the global tournament begins later this month.

Charani acknowledged that securing a second consecutive victory would have provided a significant confidence boost. However, she believes the current situation presents an opportunity for the team to showcase its resilience and adaptability under pressure.

Charani Shines Despite Defeat

Although India ended on the losing side, Charani emerged as one of the standout performers with the ball. The left-arm spinner claimed three key wickets, removing Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Amy Jones and Heather Knight during an impressive spell.

Her figures of 3/25 in four overs briefly helped India claw their way back into the contest. The performance highlighted her growing importance within India's bowling unit as the team continues to shape its plans for the World Cup.

Trusting Her Natural Strengths

Reflecting on her performance, Charani said she remains committed to a simple approach focused on consistency and playing to her strengths. Rather than experimenting with variations, she relies on her ability to generate turn and maintain disciplined lines.

Her success in English conditions has provided encouragement for the team management, which is looking to build a balanced attack capable of performing across different venues.

World Cup Preparations Gather Momentum

The final T20I in Taunton will offer India another valuable opportunity to assess combinations and test players in a competitive environment. Following the series, the team will play two warm-up matches in Cardiff before opening its T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on June 14.

With the tournament fast approaching, India will aim to convert lessons from the England series into positive results. For Charani and her teammates, consistency, confidence and quick adaptation remain central to their preparations as they target success on the world stage.
