Chhattisgarh: At least 14 Naxals were killed by security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region on Friday, police said.

A large cache of weapons like the AK 47 and SLR have been recovered from the encounter site.

The encounter broke out between security forces and naxalites in the Abhujmaad forest along the border of Narayanpur and Dantewada district after the police team launched a search operation following a tipp off regarding the presence of Maoists in the region.

All security personnel are safe and further deatials are awaited.
