Delhi: Two dead, 7 injured after a building collapses in Johripur Extension

Two persons were killed and seven others injured after a house collapsed in northeast Delhi’s Johripur Extension area, police said on Friday. Read more on Dynamite News:

New Delhi: Two persons were killed and seven others injured after a house collapsed in northeast Delhi’s Johripur Extension area, police said on Friday.

According to Delhi Police, it received a call regarding a building collapse at Gali No 12, Johripur Extension. Responding to the call, a police team reached the spot and carried out a rescue operation in association with Delhi Disaster Management Authority and Delhi Fire Service.

Later in the evening bodies of two persons, Harshit and Mukesh, were recovered from the site. The seven injured persons, who have been identified as Suraj (21), Anand (60), Varsha (38), Chander Pal (35), Seema (35), Manoj Sharma (43) and Sanjay, were rescued and shifted to GTB hospital, said police.

The house was under renovation when the labourers were working on the first floor roof and it suddenly collapsed.
The legal action was being initiated in this incident, police added. (UNI)
