Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called for sustained and intensified action against terror networks, directing security agencies and administrative officials to strengthen counter-terror operations across the Kashmir division.

Sinha issued the directions while chairing a high-level security and administrative review meeting on Friday. Senior police officers and top administrative officials attended the meeting, which focused on operational preparedness, security arrangements and future strategies to maintain peace in the region.

Strengthen Anti-Infiltration Measures and Coordination

The Lieutenant Governor stressed the need to tighten counter-infiltration mechanisms and improve coordination among district administrations, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

He also instructed Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to closely monitor anti-national elements within the administration and give priority to measures aimed at preventing radicalisation.

Monthly Reviews of Terror-Linked Properties

Sinha directed officials to conduct monthly assessments of property attachments involving narco-terrorists and networks supporting terrorist activities. He also called for uninterrupted action against drug smugglers and peddlers as part of the administration's goal of making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.

Focus on Public Safety and Winter Preparedness

Emphasising public confidence, the LG said grievances must be resolved promptly and coordination between citizens, police and the administration strengthened. He warned officials against allowing communal harmony or law and order to deteriorate. He also called for district-level social media cells to counter misinformation quickly and effectively.

With winter approaching, Sinha instructed officials to maintain sufficient stocks of essential commodities and establish effective snow-clearance arrangements to prevent disruptions. The meeting concluded with an emphasis on coordinated security measures, administrative accountability and sustained efforts towards peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
