New Delhi/11 March 2016. Good metabolism helps every single cell in your body, makes you healthier and helps you lose weight. Slow metabolism will make you feel tired and make losing weight more difficult. Many things impact your metabolism, and you may unknowingly be slowing down your metabolism, and impacting your health negatively.
1. Eating at Odd Times: Research says that eating food at the same time everyday helps the body burn more calories between meals. Eating after 3 to 4 hours, eating within 1 hour of rising, eating within 3 hours of bedtime and starting the day with protein are some of the healthy eating habits.
2. Pesticide Products: A chemical known as Organochlorines often remains on vegetables which consumes the body energy level and makes it more difficult to lose weight if eaten.
3. Skipping Sleep: Research says that people who sleep less have slow metabolism. Setting a perfect time for sleeping, taking a bath, drinking a cup of milk, eating light before bed and using good pillows are some ways to have a better sleep.
4. Eating less: Eating too less slowdowns your metabolism. Check the calories you need for the day and eat appropriately.
5. Sitting for long duration: It takes only 20 minutes in any fixed position to inhibit your metabolism. Try moving your body if you are working at a desk for a long time.
6. Lack of Calcium: Calcium plays a key role in regulating your fat metabolism, which determines whether you burn calories or store them as fat.
7. Drinking less water: Drinking 6 cups of water a day (that's 48 ounces) can raise resting metabolism by about 50 calories daily—enough to shed 5 pounds in a year.
8. Skipping Breakfast: When you miss breakfast, you don't just set yourself up to overeat at lunch, you actually tell your body to conserve energy—which means it burns calories more slowly.
9. Lack of Caffeine: A cup of brewed tea can raise your metabolism by 12 percent, according to one Japanese study. Researchers believe the antioxidant catechins in tea provide the boost.
