Uttarakhand: Over 20 killed as bus falls into gorge in Almora

The bus was going from Naini Danda in Garhwal to Ramnagar in Kumaon when the accident took place at Marchula in Almora. Read further on Dynamite News:

Almora: Over 20 people were killed and several others injured after a bus fell into a deep gorge near Kupi village in Marchula on Monday. 

At least 40 passengers were on board in the bus. 

The bus was going from Naini Danda in Garhwal to  Ramnagar in Kumaon when the accident took place at Marchula in Almora, DM Alok Kumar Pandey said. 

While Pandey initially confirmed only seven casualties, sources said that at least 20 people were killed in the mishap.
Police and SDRF personnel are carrying out a search and rescue operation at the spot. 

The injured were taken to the nearest health centre for treatment.
