New Delhi: If you repeatedly share someone else's photo, video, or text on Facebook without giving credit, then now this habit can become a problem for you. Meta has implemented a new rule for Facebook, under which strict action will be taken against users who share such unoriginal content.
It has been seen on Facebook for a long time that many users and pages are copying the hard-earned posts of the original creators and sharing them in their name without permission. In such a situation, the company has now decided to crack down on these reposting accounts so that the real creators can get their rights and their reach can be more people.
Facebook has stated in an official blog post that it is working on a strategy for the long term, which aims to reduce spam and duplicate content and promote real creativity.
In the first half of the year 2025, Meta took action against more than five lakh accounts that were involved in fake engagement and copy-paste content. Steps like reducing reach, stopping earnings, and in some cases deleting the account were taken.
The company has clarified that the monetization of accounts that repeatedly copy someone else's content will be temporarily stopped. This will also reduce the reach of their posts, and they will not be able to earn from Facebook.
Facebook says that if their system finds a copy of any content, its dissemination will be reduced so that the real creator can be given priority. The company is also testing such technology, which will add a link to the original source on duplicate content so that users can reach the original post.
Meta has said that they have no objection if a creator gives his opinion on a video, makes a reaction video, or comments on trends. But stealing someone's work without permission and credit will no longer be tolerated.
This new rule of Facebook will benefit the original content creators a lot, and their hard work will also be recognized. So if you are active on Facebook and share content, it is important to be cautious now; otherwise, both your earnings and the reach of your posts may be affected.
