Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
New Delhi: South Korean tech manufacturing giant Samsung is gearing up for launch of its next generation foldable flagship, Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The series is likely to consist of two handsets, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The company is expected to unveil the new flagships at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event later this month.
According to media reports and leaks both the devices will be powered by the Qualcomm's snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor across all global markets.
The report cities a collaborative Instagram post from Samsung Mobile and Snapdragon which portrays the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. However, the device has not been revealed yet.
The industry insiders suggest that this is going to be the first time when South Korean tech giant equips its Galaxy Z Fold series with a "for Galaxy" version of Qualcomm's snapdragon processor. While the previous Galaxy Z Fold models used the standard Snapdragon platform.
The teaser further revealed that the company will not follow a regional chipset for the fold lineup. Instead, both the devices of the upcoming fold series are likely to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in all markets.
The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 series is suggested to use the company's dual-chip strategy. As per recent media reports, Samsung's home market and major European markets may receive the handset backed by Samsung's in-house 2nm Exynos 2600 processor. While markets including, the US, Canada, China, Japan, and several other regions are likely to get Galaxy Z Flip 8 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset.
The company is likely to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 during its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event later this month on 22nd July 2026.
