This year, however, the announcement could see a slight delay due to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The Commission is expected to begin its visits to the five states after February 15 to review election preparedness. Ahead of this, lower-level Election Commission officials have already been dispatched to assess ground-level arrangements.
