Gorakhpur: A horrific road accident near Mahadeva in Sikriganj police station area on the recently inaugurated Gorakhpur Link Expressway of Uttar Pradesh on Monday evening around 7 pm shook the entire area. Former state government minister Fateh Bahadur Singh, his security personnel and two others were seriously injured in this accident, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The accident happened when Fateh Bahadur Singh was going towards Gorakhpur. His escort vehicle went out of control and hit the divider and overturned. At the same time, his luxury car coming from behind also collided with it, due to which the collision was so severe that all the people in the car were badly injured. Hearing the sound of the accident, the nearby villagers reached the spot and helped in taking out the injured.

Local police and ambulance service immediately reached the spot and all the injured were admitted to Aggarwal Hospital in the city. According to doctors, the condition of the former minister is critical and fractures are suspected in several places in his body. The condition of the security personnel is also said to be critical. The hospital administration has shifted all the injured to the ICU.

It is worth noting that a major loss was averted due to the opening of the airbag during the accident. If there were no safety equipment, the loss of life and property could have been even more horrific.
