“Hope Amid Global Conflicts” Mayawati Backs Stronger BRICS Cooperation After Delhi Summit

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday said stronger cooperation among BRICS nations could bring hope amid rising global conflicts and economic challenges. Reacting to the BRICS Summit being held in New Delhi, she said closer coordination between member countries could provide a positive direction in an uncertain global environment.

BRICS Cooperation Can Offer New Hope

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Mayawati said ongoing conflicts, including the Ukraine and Iran crises, along with economic difficulties and tariff-related challenges, have increased pressure on countries worldwide.

She said stronger bonds among BRICS nations could become an important step towards stability and development. Mayawati also welcomed discussions around a possible BRICS currency, saying it could further strengthen economic cooperation among member countries.

Support For Palestine Two-State Solution

The BSP chief highlighted BRICS’ stand on the Palestine issue, saying member countries showed united support for a two-state solution and an independent Palestine based on the 1967 borders.

She also appreciated BRICS’ position against terrorism, particularly the support extended towards India’s concerns following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Mayawati Raises India-China Border Issue

Speaking about India’s relationship with China, Mayawati said the approach of ensuring that differences do not turn into disputes would have to be judged by future outcomes.

She stressed that an early resolution of the border issue between the two countries would be in the interest of both nations.

Mayawati’s remarks came as leaders from BRICS member countries gathered in New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit, where discussions focused on global governance, economic cooperation, terrorism, technology and international challenges.
