Mathura: Now, along with faith, the freshness of nature can also be felt in Mathura-Vrindavan, the land of Lord Krishna's Leela. Under the "Mathura Vision-2030" of the Yogi Adityanath government, a historic initiative is being taken towards beautifying the Yamuna bank.

A 17-km-long nature walk pathway is being built from Vrindavan to Gokul, the estimated cost of which is about Rs 50 crore. This project will be implemented jointly by the Braj Tirtha Vikas Pradhikaran and the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the most special thing about this pathway will be that this two-meter-wide paved path will be decorated with greenery and shade from indigenous trees on both sides.

There will be basic facilities like fencing, solar-powered lights, a sitting area, and toilets on the way so that devotees and local people can get a pleasant and safe experience.

Opportunity to see Yamuna on a bicycle

The main objective of this scheme is to promote ecotourism in the Mathura-Vrindavan area, rejuvenate the Yamuna bank, and preserve biodiversity. Earlier, the bank, which was seen with illegal encroachment and garbage, will now be planted with trees associated with Lord Krishna, like kadamba, arjun, pakad, and neem.

This will not only improve the environment but will also revive the cultural heritage. Every year about 5 crore devotees reach Mathura-Vrindavan, but most of them have to pass through noisy roads. This new pathway will give them an opportunity to see Yamuna peacefully on foot or bicycle.

But will this project really be completed by 2030? According to officials, the DPR has been prepared, and the tender process is moving forward rapidly. Plantation work will start with the monsoon, and by 2026 its first phase will be opened to the public.

Businesses will also get tremendous benefits

Due to the pathway, shops selling flowers, garlands, puja material, and handicrafts will get customers. Yoga-meditation camps, cycle tours, and nature schools can also be started. This will provide employment to the youth and a new identity to home stays.

This pathway will not only be a path but will also become a medium of spiritual, natural, and economic awakening for the devotees.
