Moradabad: The series of road accidents in the district is not stopping. Despite the road safety campaign being run by spending lakhs of rupees, the havoc of speed is continuously taking lives, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
The latest accident occurred in front of MI Hospital located near Sirsima crossroad post of Bhojpur police station area, where a high speed container ran over a bike riding family on Sunday afternoon. In this tragic accident, the woman and her one and a half year old innocent son died on the spot, while the husband and elder son were seriously injured.
The incident took place around 12:30 pm on Sunday. Yunus Ali, a resident of Aliabad in Dilari police station area, was going to Siraskheda (Mundapande police station area) on a bike with his wife Tabassum (26) and two sons - five-year-old Furkan Ali and one-and-a-half-year-old Saad Yunus to attend a marriage ceremony in a relative's house.
As soon as his family reached in front of M.I Hospital near Sirsima crossroads outpost, a speeding container coming from Moradabad hit his bike from behind.
The collision was so severe that all four people on the bike fell far away on the road. In this accident, Tabassum and one-and-a-half-year-old Saad Yunus, who was sitting in her lap, died on the spot. While Yunus Ali and his son Furkan were seriously injured.
On the information of passersby, police station in-charge Sharad Malik reached the spot with his team and sent the injured father-son to a private hospital for treatment. At the same time, the bodies of the deceased were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem.
After the accident, there was a traffic jam on the highway. Long queues of vehicles were formed. The police made the traffic smooth after about an hour of hard work. The police have taken the container and its driver involved in the accident into custody and have started interrogation at the police station.
Police station in-charge Sharad Malik said that at present no complaint has been received from the family of the deceased. Legal action will be taken on receiving the complaint. As soon as the news of this tragic accident was received, there was chaos in the family, and there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area.
