IMD Issues Big Alert as UP Temperature Drops Sharply
Lucknow: The weather in Uttar Pradesh has begun to change. A mild chill has been felt for the past few days, but now temperatures are set to suddenly drop. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a major alert for residents of the state, warning of bone-chilling cold in the coming days. Dense fog and a cold wave are also expected in several districts.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Uttar Pradesh will remain dry from November 23rd to 28th, but temperatures will continue to drop. The nights will become significantly colder. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next five days. A sharp increase in cold will be felt starting Saturday night.

Minimum temperatures may reach 8°C in many districts, leading to a mild cold wave in the morning and evening.
The Meteorological Department predicts dry weather in eastern and western Uttar Pradesh on November 23. However, light to moderate fog is possible in the morning. After the fog clears, the sun will emerge in the afternoon, and the weather will return to normal.
Dry weather may be affected during this period, and visibility may decrease.
The weather will remain dry across the state on November 24, 25, and 26.
Thin to moderate fog may persist in the mornings in some districts on these three days.
There will be no significant change in the weather on November 27 and 28, and the cold will continue to intensify.
The districts of Uttar Pradesh that started the morning with dense or moderate fog include:
Lucknow, Noida, Firozabad, Unnao, Hamirpur, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Agra, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Rampur, Bareilly, Mathura, Meerut, Kannauj, Mainpuri, Sitapur, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Aligarh, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Kanpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Azamgarh, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Barabanki, and Basti.
Visibility was very low in these districts during the morning, causing difficulties in commuting.

The Meteorological Department says that northern winds have started to intensify in North India, causing temperatures to drop rapidly in Uttar Pradesh.
The effects of a mild cold wave will be felt in the coming days, especially in western and central Uttar Pradesh.
People should be prepared for freezing cold nights, with minimum temperatures expected to reach around 8°C. The elderly and children are advised to exercise special caution.
