Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas (death anniversary) was observed with reverence and respect in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak visited the Ambedkar Mahasabha and paid homage to the architect of the Constitution.
Lucknow: At the main event held in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Baba Saheb's vision is the foundation of an egalitarian society. The government is continuously working towards securing the rights of tribal communities, the transgender community, and women. Yogi said that the goal of the "double-engine government" is to ensure that no individual faces social or economic discrimination.
At the event, CM Yogi specifically praised the hard work of sanitation workers and contractual employees. He announced that the government will now ensure that all sanitation workers and contractual employees receive a minimum wage. The government will implement this soon, providing relief to thousands of families.
The program concluded with a floral tribute at Baba Saheb's statue and a reaffirmation of the core principles of the Constitution. Throughout the event, social justice, equal rights, and Ambedkar's contributions were remembered.
