Uttar Pradesh: ‘Amdi bridge’ of Nichlaul become deadly

Maharajganj: Amdi bridge located near Jhulnipur border of Maharajganj has become synonymous with accidents these days. This bridge has reached such a dilapidated condition that a major accident can happen anytime.

The railing of the bridge has broken at many places, the iron rods have come out and the entire structure of the bridge has become weak. In such a situation, passing through here has become like risking the life of the drivers.

While talking to Dynamite News, local residents say that hundreds of vehicles pass through this bridge daily, but the condition of the bridge is very pathetic. The bridge is narrow and two vehicles cannot pass together. As a result, vehicles collide with each other every day, due to which many people have been injured. This bridge is proving to be even more dangerous for bike riders, because even a slight mistake can cause the vehicle to fall straight off the bridge.

There is no concrete on the sides of the bridge. It has become even more dangerous due to the broken railing. At many places, iron rods are peeping out which can seriously injure anyone at any time. Local people said that the marks of accidents are clearly visible on the bridge, from which it can be guessed to what extent this bridge has become deadly.

The biggest irony is that the road from Nichlaul to Jhulnipur is wide and fine, but as soon as the Amdi bridge comes, the drivers have to face a lot of trouble. Every day a jam situation arises because one vehicle has to stop on the side so that the other can cross.
