Sufiya Sufi, Guinness World Record holder and internationally acclaimed endurance runner, on 18th July 2026 crossed Ramban district as part of her historic 5,000km run from Kanyakumari to the Karakoram region of Leh-Ladakh, marking another milestone in one of India’s toughest endurance expeditions.

As per the official sources, Sufiya has safely crossed the Maroge village, near MS 157 on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Who is Sufiya Sufi?

Sufiya Sufi is from Ajmer, Rajasthan, and she is considered among India’s most recognised ultra-distance runners.  She holds multiple world records, including her latest Guinness World Record for completing a 430-km run from Manali to Leh in 98 hours and 27 minutes.

She shared her latest challenge on Social media; she wrote,  “When dreams are right, and efforts are true, the right people show up. As I am about to attempt something no one has ever done before - India’s Most Extreme Endurance Run from Kanyakumari to Karakoram - Run for Dreams, starting May 12.”

She is currently running for the bravery of Indian Armed Forces personnel.
