New Suzuki Maxi Scooter Teased Ahead of April 2 Launch in India
New Delhi: Suzuki Motorcycle India is set to launch its new maxi-scooter on April 2, to disrupt the Indian two-wheeler market. The company recently released a teaser on social media, sparking excitement about the new model. Although the company hasn't officially revealed the model's name, it's believed to be a new-generation version of the Suzuki Burgman Street.
Based on the teaser's look, it's clear that the scooter will have a more premium and sporty design. A larger front apron and a wider body design are expected. The most notable change will be the headlight setup, which could feature split LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs). This new design will give the scooter a look similar to global maxi-scooters.

The current model, the Suzuki Burgman Street, was first launched in India in 2018. This scooter hasn't seen major changes in the past eight years, with only minor updates. Therefore, customers are expecting significant upgrades from the new model, especially in terms of design and features.
It is believed that the company may introduce a new scooter with a more powerful engine this time around. It may also include advanced features such as a digital display, connectivity options, and improved comfort. However, full details of the engine specifications and features will only be revealed at launch.
If this new model comes with a more powerful engine, it could compete directly with scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160, and TVS Ntorq 150. All of these models already have a strong presence in the premium scooter segment.
Currently, the Suzuki Burgman Street is priced between ₹93,676 and ₹97,527 (ex-showroom). The new model is expected to be priced higher, as it is expected to feature new features and an improved design. Overall, this new maxi-scooter from Suzuki could be a stylish and advanced option for customers in the Indian market.
