BJP appoints Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin as National Working President; Decision takes immediate effect

New Delhi: The BJP Parliamentary Board has appointed Nitin Nabin, a Cabinet Minister in the Bihar government, as the National Working President of the party.

The appointment comes into immediate effect, the party said in an official statement.

Who is Nitin Naveen?

Nitin Naveen currently serves as the Road Construction Minister in the Bihar government and also holds the additional responsibility of BJP in-charge for Chhattisgarh.

The 45-year-old leader belongs to the Kayastha community and is the son of senior BJP leader Kishore Sinha. Known for his active role in both organisational and governmental work, Nitin Naveen has emerged as a key figure within the party.

Nitin Nabin was born in Patna. He is a BJP leader and MLA. Nitin represents the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna.

He entered active electoral politics after his father’s demise and steadily built his own political identity.

Representing the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna, Nabin has emerged as one of the BJP’s strongest leaders in the state. He has won the seat four times in a row in the 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025 Assembly elections following his initial by-election victory in 2006.

In the most recent Bihar Assembly polls, he secured another emphatic mandate from Bankipur, defeating his nearest rival by a margin of more than 51,000 votes, reaffirming his strong electoral base.
