Patna: Political equations are once again getting complicated before the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has made it clear by giving a sharp statement on the speculation of joining the India Alliance that his party will now set its foot in the battlefield on its own terms.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, Owaisi said, "Now there is not going to be one-sided love. The people of Bihar should understand that the allegations made against us were based on lies and illusions." His statement directly points towards those parties who have been accusing AIMIM of benefiting the BJP and labeling AIMIM another functionary party of the BJP in 2020.

'We also want to defeat BJP, but...'

Taking the India Alliance to task, Owaisi said that he is defamed for becoming the voice of the poor, backward, and Muslims. He said, "They accuse us because they do not want a leader of the poor to come forward. They want the people of Bihar to remain their political slaves. But we also want to defeat the BJP and will contest elections strongly in Bihar this time."

Third front strategy

The AIMIM chief also made it clear that his party is seriously considering the formation of a third front. He said that the party's Bihar president, Akhtarul Iman, has already taken initiative in this direction. According to Owaisi, "The people of Bihar have now learned to differentiate between truth and lies. We are working towards giving a new option."

Questions the Election Commission

Questioning the role of the Election Commission, Owaisi also reacted sharply to the Special Voter Revision (SIR) process. He said that the Election Commission does not have the right to decide citizenship; it is a matter of the Home Ministry. "If the Election Commission does not have this right, then why is it checking citizenship in the name of purity of the voter list? This is like NRC, but through the back door."

‘Why target Seemanchal?’

Owaisi accused the poor and Muslim community of being targeted in the name of voter verification in the Seemanchal area. He said that this area is repeatedly falling prey to attempts to disempower them in a planned manner.

RJD's concern and political pressure

Many opposition parties, including RJD, are worried that if AIMIM again fields its candidates in Seemanchal, then, like last time, votes will be divided and the opposition will suffer. This is the reason why RJD has indirectly appealed to Owaisi not to participate in Bihar elections.

However, it is clear from Owaisi's stance that he will not only contest the elections, but this time he also wants to move beyond the alliance-dependent politics and be in the role of the leader of the third front.
