New Delhi: On December 31, 2025, the Indian stock market began its final trading day of the year on a strong and positive note. Both major benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50, opened in the green. The Sensex opened 118.50 points, or 0.14%, higher at 84,793.58, while the Nifty 50 opened 32.20 points, or 0.12%, higher at 25,971.05.
Around 9:20 AM, the Sensex had gained 216 points and was trading at 84,891. The Nifty 50 also jumped 70 points to trade at 26,009, creating a positive sentiment among investors on the last day of the year.

On December 30, the market had witnessed a decline. The Sensex closed 20.46 points, or 0.02%, lower at 84,675.08, while the Nifty 50 closed 3.25 points, or 0.01%, lower at 25,938.85.
On that day, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers in the BSE basket, while Eternal, HCL Tech, Bajaj Finance, and Asian Paints were among the losers.

Nifty IT, Nifty 100, Nifty Midcap, Nifty FMCG, and Nifty Smallcap indices declined, while Nifty Bank and Nifty Auto indices saw gains. On Tuesday's trading day, 12 stocks in the BSE basket closed in the green, while 18 stocks registered losses.
