

A 21-year-old student from Delhi has lodged detailed allegations of persistent sexual harassment against Chaitanyananda Saraswati.
17 women have confirmed the allegations.
New Delhi: A 21-year-old student from Delhi has lodged detailed allegations of persistent sexual harassment against Chaitanyananda Saraswati, the director of a private management institute. As per the FIR, the student first interacted with Chaitanyananda last year and the conversation left her feeling uncomfortable.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that Chaitanyananda looked at her “weirdly" during their first meeting. The scholarship student recalled how the accused, 62-year-old Swami sent her objectionable text messages, commenting on her looks.

After sustaining an injury, the victim said she was asked to share her medical reports. As she shared her medical reports, Chaitanyananda started sending her inappropriate messages over WhatsApp at odd hours.
As per the reports, his messages included comments such as, "Baby, I love you. I adore you, you are looking beautiful today and also had remarks about her hair.

The gravity of the case can be acknowledged from the fact that the accused has been accused of sexual harassment by female students pursuing PGDM at the Sri Sringeri Math's Sharada Institute of Indian Management under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) scholarship.
These students allege that Swami Chaitanyananda not only approached them inappropriately but also sent them abusive and obscene messages. He targeted women from weaker backgrounds.

According to the FIR and media reports Chaitanyananda sexually harassed and traumatised female students, specifically those from economically weaker sections, at the institute. Moreover various female students were also forced to accompany him on foreign trips, where they were asked to visit his room during late hours, the FIR claimed.
Chaitanyananda, a self-proclaimed spiritual leader, is on the run after the allegations came to light. He was initially known as Swami Parthasarathy alias Swami Dr Parthasarathy and has been associated with the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management for nearly 12 years.
